They’re all Ubuntu distros lol
See picture.
They’re all Ubuntu distros lol
Now the real question is what package manager are they using? apt or yum? Lol
SKISSUE says chat lol
And AMD won the console wars
If it’s anything like my work and their RTO a few things.
So expect quality at Amazon to decline. It may not be outwardly visible but mark my words for those that are still there it will devolve into a chaotic shit show of overworked employees that are left backfilling work for those who left and the incompetence that came in.
I mean I understand his sentiment but the system is working exactly as defined. When he says stuff like Facebook, Apple, Microsoft used to work it’s not for a lack of trying. Their MO has not changed since the 80’s. What has changed is the ability to execute on their MO.
The companies are fine. The problem is societal. Hackers ain’t gonna fix shit.
I will continue to argue that GenX is the only true technology literate generation because we grew up with the technology as it evolved. Future generations are more consumers not partners in the technology they own.
Yea it’s a vast generalization but Apple is a good analogy of this. Most people now just want “a technology that works” without any understanding or control over how it works. That’s a recipe for technological serfdom under the new generation of technocratic companies designed to own us.
Am I ever going to own a free phone? Probably not, but that doesn’t excuse me from at least understanding from a high level all the players involved in my phone and where they’re generating value from me.
XML is fine. Namespaces have a special place in hell though
Linux absolutely isn’t perfect, no technology is. But in my years of experience with both, Linux on the whole is far less finicky, and far easier to fix when it breaks.
I agree 110% but it’s also worth mentioning that windows isn’t as finicky as we complain about. If it was, companies wouldn’t by and large rely on it. People are delusional if they think Windows is only around because of some conspiracy or historical precedent. “It works” plain and simple. As you scale you’re going to run into issues regardless of the OS. It’s naive to think Linux is the be all that end all. As much as anyone I want to be Linux only. My home computers have been Linux for decades now. I’m a realist. There’s value and challenges with every OS. I hate the industry trend of Windows over Linux but I get it
When I write APIs I like to set endpoints to return all status codes this way no matter what you’re doing you can always be confident you’re getting the expected status code.
Snake if writing in python
Camel if writing in PowerShell
I tend to stick with what the language wants me to use.
And for the most part it’s still powered by underpaid South Asian manpower lol.
Ah yes. A phone is a car. Got it.
Also, who tf is exploiting kids because they have a phone? Do you also remove all TVs from your house? What about the radio? Can’t have Lady Gaga singing about “poke her face” to my kids! Lol
This is an extremely reactionary take. I hear what you are saying but I draw the line as delusional and irresponsible unless you apply that to pretty much all parents that don’t completely smother their children.
We make mistakes as we grow. We lie. We get hurt. Technology is always Pandora’s box. I’d argue we have better knowledge of our kids now than we ever used to and stats show the world is safer now than it has ever been.
If you live in fear you will form your decisions from a place of fear.
I will argue smartphones or any electronic is not the problem. The problem is lazy parents.
My kids all have had phones since before 10 and they’re all well adjusted but to be clear I monitor their usage and I check in with my kids regularly.
I cannot hold back society or technology at the fear of my kids being left behind. What I can do is help them navigate both as they grow.
I love how quick we are to lay the blame anywhere but parents.
It really applies to anything. Whenever you read of policy related arguments always look at the people complaining. Rule of thumb is it gives you a good idea of who the policy hurts the most. If it’s large companies or rich people complaining by and large it’s probably a good policy.
Takes one apartheid asshole to recognize another eh? Lol
If you’re serious about monitoring your shit this is really the best answer. Zabbix is love. Zabbix is life.
Same but I blame work. My surface tablet at home is vanilla windows professional and memory usage is fine with 16gb.
That said I don’t use Chrome at home and Chrome is absolutely insane with memory consumption
