No. That removes everything in the root filesystem. Very different from a “folder called root”. The correct command would be rm -r root

I’m on Fedora too and quite often end up on the Arch wiki. A lot of the stuff there applies on other distros too.

The technology you’re talking about is literally two resistors - parts that cost less than a cent a piece when you get a few hundred.
