Excuse me. Some of us do buy Apple products. And there’s nothing that comes close to the bargain price of the base model, so we laugh at it while buying it too.

I guess I’ll be the exception as someone who does have a macmini because it is the best priced mini pc that can’t be beat, and will likely get the base model for this too for the same reason.

But I still would prefer a power button in the front.

Update: Export and import worked perfectly. Device name, device ID, and all folders I was syncing got picked up.

That’s with trusted parties where that type of collaboration is less likely to happen between parties that are hostile to each other. I would not expect blank country to trust any blank adversary countries software and instead be wary of their motives and back doors, and they would be smart not to with both sides seeking each other harm.

I don’t think you understand that I am viewing this from how sides that see each other as potential threats view and treat each other. Not talking about countries that are already collaborating as if they were allies.

In case you don’t understand. I am not claiming that countries do not spy on their own citizens and seek methods to spy even more on them. I’m talking about how countries can react to countries they label as adversaries.

Trying to set barriers seems logical when it comes to outsiders. But, spying by its nature is constant attempts to sneak past barriers, so attempts aren’t going to stop. It’d just be called collaboration instead of spying if information was shared freely and spying would be unnecessary.

Maybe we have a different definition of deter. I don’t see it as stop, but trying to make it less easier. Why would spies stop trying to spy? I don’t expect that number to change. If it did that would be some pitiful spies.

Not saying it is okay. Pointing out that even if hypocritical there’s generally a strategic reason for countries to deter international spying. Would be quite a puzzling decision for any country to provide an open door for other countries to spy on them.

I think most countries spy on their citizens and a lot of the same countries probably don’t want other countries doing the same due to possible unwanted intel leaks in government and corporate sectors.

Kids shouldn’t learn to read. They should stick to audio books.

I thank getting into pcgaming for pushing me towards tech literacy. With how simplified tech has gotten and most usage being phones it’s not surprising so many are more clueless than boomers who were at least forced to use PCs in an office setting.

Yeah, what companies want is all jobs to be exploitable like entry level jobs. That’s kind of what’s happening now with stuff like Uber where companies get away with paying their employees as little as possible and few benefits.

Protecting and providing incentive to hire for the long term seems like better thing in the long run over many crappy low paying jobs.

Yeah, I knew of lemmy long before any protests, but it was more linked as a back up sub for like the rom sub in case a ban happened. But, activity was pretty nonexistent compared to now. For lemmy this is a success with it leading to many more consistent users of the platform.

Yeah, nothing changed. People might say /r/all changed, but that place has always been crap and avoided by long time users in favor of subscribed feed.

What about hdr. I saw it mentioned for the Steam Deck update, so wondered if that is finally working on Linux. I do like taking advantage of HDR on the TV.

I modded my switch once they started the online subscription. It’s a really great jailbreak experience. Got ability to export saves too.

It’s the best we’ve got unlike the rather ridiculous proposals of backing up their own games some have made. Average person does not have the storage or the determination to digitize everything and keep it safe in case of corruption with multiple back ups.

Even then in a worst case scenario due to the open platform piracy is a possibility. That’s where some of the peace of mind comes from compared to purchasing of digital goods for a closed system.

I wish people didn’t care about downvotes. Always hated the edits on reddit reacting to being downvoted. Would downvote comments I agreed with too if they whined about votes.

Most importantly they are simping for Google and acting as though YouTube is an independent company with its own separate stocks and unaffiliated under the Google monolith.
