“Papa’s here!”
“Papa’s here!”
It reminds me of people in the UFO community.
“People like to joke about how we don’t listen to users/feedback. About how we just assert our vision and do things how we wish. Like our mouse. It drives people absolutely bonkers! But this time we listened to the pushback. And now they sue us?”
And this scheme has been quietly building in many industries for the past decade or so. Be it by AI or just an intermediary.
They are all following the “guidance” of some entity in their industry that is paid to be an expert. And everyone in the industry signs up. That expert then “advises” on pricing and other choices. And slowly over time they are essentially colluding, but with more steps, and then they also benefit from the ability to talk in circles when called on it.
The practice needs to be outlawed across the board.
No, they said we already knew about that and didn’t give it another thought.
Palmer Luckey and Sam Altman team up.
This sounds like typical higher education bullshit to me. Especially the part about being informed of decisions too late, with bullshit reasoning.
Gotta be careful with those variable labels…
Really? Can you point me to where they have said things along these lines?
Why are more people not pointing out they say federation is basically impossible, so that’s why they are not doing it…
Also, ban evasion is not exactly fixed in other contexts either. The only absolute solution is identity verification.
Has this happened with other codecs?
I keep noticing situations on social media and wikis were the only way I can frame it now is that it’s just data entry for AI models.

“Chrome” and “Google” both exist for iOS but both are basically used as web browsers.
“Google’s ownership of web browsers” is interchangeable for just “Chrome” here.
And people are surprised that the US gov is suggesting Chrome be taken away from the search engine? I wonder why…
That photo reminds me of Don’t Look Up.
I installed the beta. It’s not that bad. My server was the first thing I saw when I opened it. So it wasn’t pushing the other stuff.
It’s missing a bunch of little things tho, like checking the file properties for an episode or movie.
This overhaul might live up to their pitch. I hope it does.
There are so many little fixes and changes they have done over the years. I expect so many edge cases that they kindly took care of not being taken care of anymore.
I wondered about that.
