I’ll never give Meta a chance. I don’t want anything to do with them.

“Our toasters, really? I always knew that little bastard was up to something”
Yeah, everyone is acting like it’s over now but in reality we’re still incredibly vulnerable.
Unprecedented global population means unprecedented opportunities for dangerous mutations, and easy global travel means it can spread faster than any time in history.
I had at least three comments talking about Lemmy removed too. For all I know it was many more than that because I didn’t get any notice or explanation.
My take is that they’re censoring without even informing people because the fediverse is a real threat to them.
A sincere thank you for a fascinating, quality post in Technology instead of the usual Threads/Twitter/Reddit posts.
Oregon Trail gone forever
Your first paragraph makes it seem like you didn’t even read my comment. Not interested in a condescending conversation.
It’s all over Lemmy. A huge chunk of content here is about social media. Twitter, Reddit, Threads, Musk, Zuckerberg, the fediverse, Lemmy development, Kevin development.
Those are all decent topics to address, but that’s half my feed on here even after curation.
And I kindly suggest you create a create a community called “billionaire drama and promotion” for all this low quality content so technology can actually be about tech.
Can Lemmy do anything besides post about Elon, Threads, Zuckerberg, and Reddit? Is it just a bunch of bots spamming the place?
I came here to avoid all that shit, not talk about it.
They got users by signing people up automatically.
Tired of hearing about Threads, Zuckerberg, and Elon, can we talk about something else on Lemmy or what.
The admins were also deleting comments. I had at least a few disappear without explanation or notice. Could be many more, I have no way of even knowing.
Same, I wonder if it’s changed because of all the drama? The rating dropped from like 4.3 to 3.2 stars in the last month, I’d guess people were also reporting it for having mature content.
I’m akeptical. I suspect they’ll mostly use control of an instance to inject their marketing and data collection efforts into the fediverse.
Defederating from any corporate-controlled instance is how we can keep the fediverse healthy.
“americabad”
“Attract and extract”
Exactly
Maybe they can help us out and take down Lemmygrad while they’re at it
