i don’t see a case being made for why lemmy NEEDS tags, other than it’s a “nice to have”. i use fulltext search and it works for everything it’s really good actually. if there was no fulltext search, then tags would be something i’d care about, but fulltext search still would take priority.
i like that lemmy isn’t full of tags and has a real fulltext search that has no algorithm behind it. tags system just weighs down things that much more. maybe there is a very clean way to do it and have it be not an afterthought to the original design, i’m not on the project. i still don’t care about tags
