Have you considered a VPS?
I have one that is pretty basic but works very well for about $4US a month. Mine runs Ubuntu 22.

Pray I do not alter it further…
I have been using copilot inside VSCode for about a month. That thing is useful. It really does cut back on programming time. The help you get from this thing, although not 100% accurate, is mostly accurate enough to get you unstuck and keep moving. It is really useful. I have paid 1 monthl at 10$US. It is totally worth it for me and my usage.
I really hope I don’t have to start paying twice as much for the same experience.
We should all strive for this level of rigor when understanding sources of articles online.
The world would be so much better.
Mate. Trusting a company not to shaft you when you have no alternatives is never a good idea. It is actually really bad.
Companies do not act towards the benefit of the customer. It is always towards a better bottom line, and those decisions many times do not have your best interest at heart. If you have no choices, the companies have no incentive to make your experience any better. (see Internet Explorer). Competition is always a good thing. It forces companies to be better. The key word there is forces because they will not do it on their own.
By how much are we expecting this drug to expand the lifespan of dogs? I read the article and could not find it. Anyone here know?
How do you disable this? Not the article nor the comments mention how to opt out…
I just built a laptop and I always choose Mint. I used the XFCE spin and it failed me. Everything worked well except the second monitor screen. I just could not get it to display proper 1080p. I tried forums and changed a bunch of configurations.
I ended up getting Fedora on it and it worked out of the box. Oh well. Fedora it is then.
What a bummer… This site was so cool. Prone to misuse of course but cool nonetheless. Sad to read the reasoning behind closing this one off.
I feel like I will have to revisit this comment in a few years with ‘aged like fine milk’… Hope I am wrong.
I have been using too and it is awesome. Oy thing I have issue with is when playing a Playlist on full-screen it exits full screen at the end of every video so you have to click on it again to go full screen. Quite annoying on how I use it.
"Microsoft’s blog adds caveats, such as that Excel avoids the conversion by saving the data as text, which means the data may not work for calculations later. There’s also a known issue where you can’t disable the conversions when running macros. "
This sounds very half assed…
Thanks. I quickly tried it on YouTube and did get an ad. So I guess it doesn’t work on those. Bummer.
Edit. Tried it some more and did not get any more ads. It takes a little to get the video playing but other that 10/10. No ad experience. Awesome.
I have Vivaldi on my android but I do not know how to get adblock working. Is it even possible?
Firefox mobile has Ublock Origin and works great. Even on YouTube.
Wholeseme bro! (or sis!) Right on!
That’s where fakespot comes into play. I have the add on on my browser and it rates the reviews. Anything below a B is probably filled with fakes. You can even sort the entries using fakespot adjusted review scores.
I am sucker for these things. I have a small laptop I keep around for menial tasks and I use Mint on it. I wanted to change it for a while and this article just tipped the balance. Fedora here we go! Although I will be using Xfce for it’s lightweight.
But… Yay Linux! Yay Fedora! Yay OP!
I have a water container I need to take care of in my house. An ultrasonic sensor hooked to my raspberry 3b uploads the collected data to my vps that later serves an html through Flask to show the water level. It has a few alarms so that I can take action at the appropriate time. The ultrasonic sensors HC-SR04 suck and I have to replace them quite frequently. Other then that it works really well.
I read an article about. Here is another one. Doesn’t seem to mention any of the effects on Foss software so I might be out of the loop.
Why are the ARR a bad idea for a VPS?
Yeah storage suck on mine but you can get a seed box for storage and run the apps in the VPS. But that’s another subscription.
