I do like the convenience of Windows and I’m still on W10, when it loses support I’ll be switching to Linux too.

Yeah I mean if you started one. If you went in with a secret chat in the first place then it wouldn’t be an issue. And so it’s one extra click vs. starting a normal chat. I hope it hasn’t inconvenienced you more than it’s taken for all these replies.
Thanks! My cousin used pop and was a fan tbf. I do like stability but also hoping, as I don’t work on my personal PC, that some instability would revitalise my enjoyment of tinkering. I have become used to the comforts of stability as I’ve aged. Haven’t really played with Linux since the Red Hat 7 days…! I used to use Unix back then for FORTRAN but yeah of late just forgotten everything.
It’s another contender for sure.
Just some performance I’ve seen people get from it and the nvidia bits. Still need to research before I decide though.
I am keeping Win 10 until I can’t safely anymore then Linux may be my next stop. Been looking at CachyOS for gaming.
I liked the comments on the video saying “that’s a hedge trimmer not a chainsaw”
Eugh I’m overdue donating to them. I’ve done Wikipedia as I use it way more but this site is important and I think it’s time.
I’ve been toying with the idea of getting back into Linux for a while now. While I’m still on W10 I’m not rushing, and haven’t installed a TPM Module so Windows doesn’t force W11 on me yet, but when I have no choice that may push my hand. There’s some stuff I find easier on Windows but Linux has really caught up in the past 20 years and I reckon I could daily it in the coming years.
That’s rough :(
That’s wild, how big is your house? My monthly spend on heating is 1/4 of that during winter to keep it at 21.
Grim Fandango, Full Throttle and Normality all have vivid memories in my brain.
I ended up getting a Stadia Premiere Edition (Controller and a Chromecast Ultra) for £20 down from £70 and tried it for essentially free (Stadia Pro 12 months free).
The got £20 refunded when they wound down - announced 3/4 of the way through my Stadia trial.
So all free and got a long cabled USB-C charger, a newer Chromecast than my old one, which ended up on the 2nd TV, and a controller I can repurpose.
Wild.
I’ve been using Podcast Addict for years now. Dunno why people think they are bound to one thing when Android offers so many choices.
Now this would be useful.
Doubt it will ever get back to how it was with how easily they could be removed but there may be steps towards it https://www.euronews.com/green/2023/06/22/new-eu-law-to-force-smartphone-makers-to-build-easily-replaceable-batteries
Apparently just don’t cover it in foil.
EDIT: just realised that’s for turkey, so YMMV with chicken I dunno, I usually do a rack of lamb anyway lel
uBlock Origins should still be fine for me because I barely allow sites on a permanent basis (temp usually). And it just means more frequent extension updates rather than background filter list updates happening daily. I only really use Chrome Portable for one laptop. My main home desktop PC is running Firefox with Chrome and Edge as fallbacks if some sites struggle.
Have you tried Thorium? I’ve heard about it but not tried it.
I went back to an old APK of Twitch and refuse to update to the current dumpster fire.
