Wild that the answer to young people being exposed to literal genocide and having an opinion about it, isn’t to try and do something about the genocide, but to call it indoctrination and try to ban it.
Make it make sense.

I’ll be honest, I’m unsure how these things are related. That being said, I’m all for platform scrutiny, and I’m aware of this controversy.
Substack have since reversed their decision on this and have taken action against a number of Nazi sources, though I would absolutely agree that more could and should be done.
For what it’s worth, have you had a look at the deep dark areas of Lemmy lately? Many a Nazi and god knows what else over here too, unfortunately.
First let me say, thanks for taking the time to write this out, hugely appreciate you for that.
Will definitely look to introduce more studies that I can then pick apart, can see how that would help with length and substance. I’ve been trying to walk the line between being too academic and too, well, not. I always had the thought that a vast majority of people would likely turn off if they start seeing academic studies references and the likes. That being said, I don’t actually have the data on if that would be true for my readership, so it’s worth a shot.
Combining these is a great idea, I’m going to go ahead and do that now, thanks!
Have huge problems with removing “I” statements from my work, so it’s always great to have another set of eyes on an article, thanks for pointing this out. I think I need to start reading over my articles more as just an interested reader than as the author, once I’ve finished up and decide to publish something, practice makes perfect I suppose.
Thanks for everything here.
Appreciate you providing your perspective on this, and I tend to agree in some cases, having been the third wheel in a situation like that too.
You can dislike this woman and this iteration of ‘new labour’ for many legitimate reasons, but this isn’t one of them.
Hard yes, even with a small fine for failing to vote (£50-100) - With the caveat that spoiling the ballot/voting none of the above is also an accepted admission.
We need to start taking steps to reverse political apathy asap, this can be one of many.
Thank you for the kind words. I’m probably a little more pessimistic than you, but I’ll say I’m absolutely with you on hoping that an incoming labour government, even if it’s more right-wing than I would prefer, would be good (Or at the very least ‘better’) for the UK. Time will tell, I’m sure I’ll have more to complain about.
Well spotted on that error, fixed it now, appreciate it!
Unsurprising considering Labour has lurched largely to the right following defeat.
That’s not to say they are now right-wing but it’d be pretty accurate to describe this iteration of Labour, Starmer’s vision of Labour, a centrist party.
130 is more than they deserve.
Hopefully they decide to support PR voting off the back of this, I’m not ‘too’ hopeful though, would be quite unlike them to do something that actually benefits the electorate.
Hey, thanks!
And you’re pretty spot on here, unfortunately.
To be fair, I did say almost this exact thing in the article.
Can’t help but agree with the second part, thanks for the encouragement.
Absolutely should have expected this haha
Hey, I really appreciate this, thank you!
Appreciate you providing some more insight! Even if it serves to confirm the insidious nature of food waste. I wonder honestly if more governmental restrictions and penalties surrounding this kind of thing would be enough to push these, let’s face it, massive corporations to do something about the waste.
Millions of tonnes of wasted food against the backdrop of millions going hungry both on and off the streets. How can we call ourselves a developed country?
Aha… that is unfortunate.
Man-child overpays for company, makes a concerted effort to ruin the things that make it good, then complains that it’s not good anymore.
For someone who claims to be smart, Elon is a fucking idiot.
Stability – So, uptime and rate at which it updates with Lemmy.
Moderation – One or two good Admins at least to keep things running smoothly and communicate with us Lemmings effectively, and have a decent ruleset.
Federation – Wide enough that I can get the content I’m looking for whilst (likely) not dealing with nutjobs.
The rest is all good, the federated nature of everything means I don’t really need to be where the communities I use the most are.
