I fixed an entire doorframe trim and drywall after the back door got kicked in - paint and putty are your friends
Eyyyyy we’re fucked 🙃
It’s not helping. We aren’t going to get a “deus ex machina” moment on righting damage done to the environment. Yes focus on the bigger goals and pollution sources, but this is a trend in the wrong way to enlarge Elon’s money pile.
Yes, the rocket is reusable. The fuel is not, and by lowering the cost per kg of space freight, it has driven more usage of rockets. Which use non-renewable fuel at astounding rates and make huge emissions for a minor payload total.
We’re seeing extreme temperatures and unseasonal weather events already - James Webb is cool and the ISS does need service missions but Starlink is just more orbital trash waiting to happen.
Repeats unhelpful mantra, offers no explanation or evidence
Ahhh I see this has been a waste of time trying to get an explanation.
Lobbying groups. One of which advocates for a Palestinian state alongside Israel, which is essentially opposed to Likud policy.
lobbying, any attempt by individuals or private interest groups to influence the decisions of government; in its original meaning it referred to efforts to influence the votes of legislators, generally in the lobby outside the legislative chamber.
Again, that hardly meets the “controls British politics” argument. An unwarranted and potentially scandalous level of quid-pro-quo/ influence sure - but the Russian money and rot is more important to root out of British politics imo
Yes. Because they’re politicians who will have to maintain some kind of rapport or dialogue with Israel. Especially after Britain was so formative in the creation of Israel via Lord Balfour.
But it’s a huge jump to say that Zionists control Britain and/or the political class. Affinity for Israel, or deference to Israel would be more accurate
That’s a new spin on “jEwS sEcReTlY rUlE eVeRyThInG”. There is, and has been, a Jewish population in British society throughout history - but this statement is unfounded at best, unhelpful anti-Semitic conspiracy at worst.
Please elaborate how Zionists “control the British state”
Why would they pay anyone? Just turn their own AI loose to dog pile dissent
Won’t anyone think of the shareholders?!?!!
This is a very easy to flag, given the intelligence of the people working at OpenAI. Russian IP, political topic, high post frequency. But blocking them has an opportunity cost in identifiable dollar value, doing nothing only costs them a few pithy press releases and a “commitment to truthfulness and openness”.
Move fast and break things, right? As long as the money rolls in… Just this time they’re breaking the fabric of reality binding society together.

I actually don’t care about individual investors, beyond the implications for the broader ‘economy’ if the Tesla bubble bursts. But given how absurd the market cap for Tesla is compared to the traditional automakers, when this hype train stops picking up speed more rubes, the rest of us need it to coast down gradually, not crash and burn.
It could be as simple as securing more/better access to China’s significant rare earth deposits that batteries need. Could also be signs that Tesla is offshoring or pushing harder into China’s domestic market, but they’re way behind there
What’s Tesla’s USP to an investor now? The supercharger ‘lock in’ and early head start at the EV game are Tesla’s biggest boons, but the former appears to have been gutted and the latter has been squandered on a slow model release schedule

God-Emperor Elon knows we must colonize the stars, how dare OSHA question his project
HFT algorithmic robo-traders still gonna scalp daily delta, often in an incestuous and self-reinforcing cycle based on financial headlines
I’ve been bearish on Tesla for years, but it’s getting increasingly obvious with growing EV competition that their market cap is/was absurd hype that defies fundamentals or even possible value if Tesla was a monopoly
I’ll agree there’s huge potential for ‘assistant’ roles (exactly like you’re using) to give a concise summary for quick understanding. But LLMs aren’t knowledgeable like an accredited professor or tutor is, understanding the context and nuance of the topic. LLMs are very good at scraping together data and presenting the shallowest of information, but their limits get exposed quickly when you try to go into a topic.
For instance, I was working a project that required very long term storage (+10 years) with intermittent exposure to open air, and was concerned about oxidation and rust. ChatGPT was very adamant that desiccant alone was sufficient (wrong) and that VCI packs would last (also wrong). It did a great job of repackaging corporate ad-copy and industrial white papers written by humans, but not of providing an objective answer to a semi complex question.
I still haven’t seen a use of AI that doesn’t serve state or corporate interests first, before the general public. AI medical diagnostics comes the closest, but that’s being leveraged to justify further staffing reductions, not an additional check.
The AI-captcha wars are on, and no matter who wins we lose.
As an expat who’s recently visited back, I’m astounded at how UK smokers behave. Not even on a night out either; the chef on break flicking the finished end into the street puddle, folks lighting up right outside shop entrances, or the general lack of awareness towards smoking around children. Socially learned behavior that never gets the same tutting you might a speeding car or queue jumper.
I took a trip abroad years ago and was bewildered to see a guy light up and then pull out a foil-type pouch too. Not only did the butt go into that pouch for later disposal, but all his ash did too. I’ve heard Japan is much the same way, even Americans are far better culturally about sequestering themselves before smoking.
