I’m just a weird, furry, pan guy (cis he/him). I also have a big, blue username.
Currently on Earth for 8 years ensuring steps to unite humanity and usher us into the galactic civilization just so I can see my boyfriend again.

I got banned from /r/Gaming years ago because in a thread about playstation emulation, I just mentioned what .BIN file is needed for the BIOS after someone asked, with a list of the files they were already looking at on a download site, because they were confused. They’re own rules explicitly state discussion of emulation is okay, but direct links are not.
I mean, we are basically father and son, and the apple didn’t fall very far from the tree.
They can only game the system because Google made a system like that possible and has never done anything to combat the gaming of it.
Thought: “They probably do something, but I doubt the claims of 99%.”
Reality: “They aren’t doing shit!”
I was Googling just fine until Google ruined it with “SEO” and AI so that completely irrelevant results dominate the first 2 or 3 pages.
I’ve never even heard Ted talk. It’s always someone else. SMH.
I ended up watching this very same clickbait last night.
“I didn’t write this comment.” Starts off making it seem hella sinister, like YouTube is doing this without the user’s consent. Only to go on and say the channel owner used a new feature that allows them to have an AI post comments on their behalf. Something you need to tell it to do.
People used to say the same thing about video games. And movies. And even books.
Imagine if this was done around the world. And then imagine how empty the Internet would be.
You don’t need to ban kids from the Internet. You need to ban pedophiles from it.
Enshittification does help to explain the other reason things start to suck when it has nothing to do with Eternal September. But with modern social media, it really is a near even split of both. Enshittified for profit by the corporations that run them, stuck in Eternal September by the growing number of users that strip such a place of its identity until it’s watered-down for the masses to get even more users.
Even if it melts back to water, is it really wet or does it simply make things wet?
Are ISPs transitioning to comedy now?
Tim Cook came to my home and put a gun to my head until I bought an iPad. :(
I saw a comment the other day about this saying you’d need like over 4terrabytes of storage to run a BlueSky instance of your own, and that it’s growing every day. That’s fucking insane.
I actually have wanted to try this out to see how accurate it can actually be. I already have conversations with myself, so I can truly compare the reality to a LLM. It’s actually weird that even the supposed “unlocked and able to generate anything from anything” tools I’ve found still don’t let you just input direct forum posts and shit to use. Though, I can totally understand why; most people probably aren’t gonna use it with their own shit, but someone else’s.

I noticed it a while back on my previous phone before it was fully rolled out everywhere and people just said I was imagining it. Half the time, I have to just turn RCS off to get my messages to actually send or to receive.
Thank fuck Lemmy isn’t owned by corporate interests that need other corporate interests to advertise on them or it’d be happening here, too.
