Why would pensioners be less likely to have a driving licence?
Also it’s pretty clear tories are targetting their voters as no other bus passes are included or basically any IDs that would predominantly be carried by younger people.

So I had understood that from the publicity, basically passport, driving licence, or their special new national ID that’s definitely not a National Identity Card.
However, the list now includes lots of documents that only pensioners have, senior bus passes and 60+ rail cards etc. Since when was a buss pass a valid form of ID? It’s very weird.

People aren’t reading. It’s a national service where you volunteer for something. 30,000 spots are in the military but theres around 700k kids turning 18 each year, other spots are the NHS, fire service, etc.
I think it’s a daft gimmick, but it’s not a draft.
He’s disgraced himself recently by talking about how he doesn’t want his kids exposed to gays, I think that should kill a lot of the further left vote that he’s trying to court.
In most ‘safe’ constituencies the non voters would win if they were a party.
Can you find a single example of a fine occurring?
This is all sex education though. Nobody is saying you should be showing porn to toddlers, but age appropriate sex education comes from when they can speak. Names for body parts, the underwear rule, how a baby is born, this is all normal stuff you can teach pre-schoolers.
We’re trying to take tourism from Pisa.
They’re talking about suspension not sacking, it’s quite common in a lot of jobs for people to be suspended when suspected. When I was a teacher I would have been banned from the premises on any accusation and only allowed back if cleared.
The current system is that they’re suspended when charged but can return when cleared and this would have them suspended earlier.
They’re not stepping back from the current laws but just refusing to send succesful applicants to Rwanda. The EU is also not sending anyone to Rwanda or any third country so no reason for people to flock from EIRE to NI.
While I’m pro giving it back, the article makes a good point about the Benin Bronzes being kept privately in the palace with no plan of them ever being displayed and refusing to even speak to existing museums. It’s very sad.
It must be very difficult for the previous holders to know they are basically in some rich blokes bedroom now.
And free rent and board for 5 years! That’s brilliant. If I had no ties I’d be ringing Rishi up to go myself.
The tory party used to be much further left than they are currently, More centre right, and many of those ex MPs are voting against this nonsense.
Stayed for a few beers and my clothes were absolutely reeking afterwards lol.
That used to be standard. I remember waking up hungover overwhelmed by the smell of my clothes from the night before on my bedroom floor. And your hair!! You needed to wash that ASAP.
Funnily enough I never noticed it on the night really, only the next day.
They didn’t say that. They said Starmer is basically a moderate tory, which is accurate.
I’m realistic. I’m also more inclined to vote centre ground of politics rather than far left or far right. And it seems the rest of the UK electorate are like that too
Not true at all, we’ve had progressively further right parties for years. You can’t compare the current tories to John Majors.
They’re comparing him to moderate tories, think Ken Clarke or Rory Stewart.
You realise someone always loses right? Losing an election doesn’t make someone unelectable.
I can see you support Blair and as a result Starmers copycat act, but there’s many times in the past where a left wing party has been in power in the UK and many countries where the left wing are in power now. You don’t HAVE to be moving to the right to get in power.
But 2017 saw the biggest labour swing since 1945, which is way more than Blair managed. That’s very electable.
Not sure how you can diminish the newspaper influence either, it’s pretty well documented. If you talk to the average person they don’t know the policies at all.
So firstly, you self declare so no check, secondly, an out of date licence is fine. Most people by retirement age will have driven.
