Yah. I, too, have had reservations, as it looks like every other Mr. beast type youtuber. But, I think we have to come to grips with the fact that it is driven by capitalism and YouTube’s algorithm.
I think it was Linus Tech Tips that had a video explicitly explaining the A-B methods that are used to serve a thumbnail and how the annoying youtuber face ones tended to get more traffic and more new viewers.
Thankfully, he does seem to be interested in education as well as earning money recording himself doing ridiculous things.
While it is not my cup of tea, my youngest loves it and has brought up engineering and physics concepts from it in appropriate situations, so I am not complaining.
The world needs to just shun him and his appointees. I wish the world leaders would just completely divest themselves from the US involvement. Just let us stew in it all.
We already know that it does. But now we have something that reliably will be able to modify that factor. Actually seems like a fairly good study.
I’m not positive that is not just a way to make it more palatable to that class. There’s a very easy connection to make with obesity and it’s related diseases, depression, and unemployment. If you’re trying to do public health with a national health organization, you want to reduce the load of those chronic disease diseases.
We are seeing it in healthcare for doing some great photo or record screening. I am sure it may put some folks out of a job, but it will save lives as well.
Was it ketamine or was it MDMA? I know that the studies for MDMA were flawed and bit and did not meet muster.
Is there an issue with bias? Always. We are dealing with humans. But I know that if the pharm companies get to have them all approved we’d be in trouble.
If you are in Most states, you can have treatment with ketamine. ~190 a month, last I checked.

It is slow because there needs to be enough data to show enough of a benefit with a low enough risk to be given approval.
I believe it was Utah who has already done some work on this and showed that it was very successful and reducing ER use and police interaction between the same individuals getting housing

Time to ween. It is going to hurt, but we need to grow apart if we are unwilling to act with any maturity and forethought. It’ll hurt the US as well. There need to be consequences.
