I thought I was imagining this until I put a 1080p episode on one monitor and a 1080p YT vid on another. The difference was night and day.

Similar story here tbh.
Yeah, I member.
I’m taking a dual-boot route, it does have it’s issues. Unfortunately due to work related and gaming reasons I can’t let go of it just yet.
I went with Linux Mint and I’ve been happy as Larry since I got used to it. But distro hop until you find your fit I’d say, I had spare hardware I was distro-hopping with and Mint just fit me best I think.
You’re spot on with Ventoy, it’s a huge boon. I only recently became aware of it, absolutely love it already. I highly recommend giving it a go.
Awesome writeup, I’ll likely refer to it in future.
6700XT dual, it stays cool, runs 1440p ultra and older 4k (newer stuff with some FSR) and I got it for 507AUD 6-7months ago.
I’m waiting till I see a good price on a 5900x/5950x for the rig I recently built with 5800x, the 5800x rips though I will keep it and do another build with it.
Fuckin gunzel
Stop giving them ideas.
Thank you for your in depth explanation, hope your comments help many others on top of myself.
I will give that a read. I have been unintentionally using this feature, anytime I expect I won’t use the GOS pixel for a bit I restart it, I’ve also found it disables biometrics as a security measure. Cool stuff.
TIL, I use GOS and never thought to look, I just see a banner saying there’s been updates and I’ve got “update and restart now”, “schedule restart” and “I’ll restart myself when ready” (or some such).
China seems to disagree.
I thought exactly the same thing, as previously though, I was willing to swallow the $8 (at the time) in order to use my tablet for coding (may as well be a laptop running android tbh).
That’s fucked up, it was $8AUD when I got it like a year ago. Fuckin corpos and their price hikes.
I was happy to swallow it to code on the go, but I only used it for a few weeks. Sometimes I lay in bed to code though so I can watch TV as well (never mind all the errors I make as a result).
I’ve got a Lenovo P11, goes pretty well on a charge, and VSCode is available on android, haven’t used it much as I almost always code at home now.
I’m picturing in my mind, that they’ll add an overlay that takes up your whole screen on login after October '25 that’ll just say “Upgrade to Windows 11 now!” That you can’t close.
Lucky I already upgraded OS to not include any Micro$hit.
Yep, assuming this new service lasts that long. Could be a year or less.
Wouldn’t be if they weren’t constantly trying to load hardware I own with unwanted ads, software and unnecessary shit nobody asked for.
Everyone keeps forgetting that we’re all just what monkeys evolved into…
