The newest LG GX (4?) is actually removing ads from their UI, I think it is totally ad-free. It is expensive as fuck though, it makes sense to deliver a premium experience.

I set up my own once. It worked well but I really missed the UI and the suggestions from the official app. I ended up getting a Premium account from a relative from a South American country where it is dirty cheap. That plus iSponsorBlockTV is such a great experience.

You can use Yatee on the ATV. Or if you have a home server / pi you can also try iSponsorBlockTV
